Radiantly You! Review and Giveaway!

I recently discovered a beautiful new brand called Radiantly You!   This Lovely company is based out of Randolph, NY which is about  20 minutes away from where I live.  Radiantly you is an up & coming company which sells organic, all natural, and gluten free products for both personal hygiene and your home! There are no parabens, no GMOs, and no toxic chemical additives in these products!  Now, many of you know my personal journey with celiac disease- but for those who don't know, I still struggle with the symptoms day in & day out.  I have to watch everything that I eat, touch and use on my body, as the main symptom of my disease is the manifestation of full body hives, often accompanied by face swelling, redness, itching and stomach issues. Needless to say, every product that I eat, wash with, or clean with, needs to be free of gluten.  And hidden gluten is everywhere!!!  The FDA is working on stricter labeling laws when it comes to labeling things gluten free, but this is a long process that may take many years to come to fruition.

On to my discovery of radiantly you:
I ran into my friend Marisa while visiting our local farmers market in August.  The words "Gluten Free" on her sign stood out to me!  Although we had chatted about doing this review a while back, I didn't realize that all the products were gluten free.  I was so excited to try the new products, especially knowing that they are gluten free, all natural, and organic. We decided that I would review the toothpaste, the facewash, lip balm, deodorant, and diaper cream!  Each of these items I've found that other companies often have hidden gluten in them.  These are the top 5 products that I have a hard time finding a clear gluten free status.  It takes a ton of research to determine the GF status of other companies but knowing up front that Radiantly You not only certified the GF status it lists each and every ingredient on the label, clear as day!  While I've read that the skin absorbs upwards of 60% of what you put on it topically, it's important to think about what you put on your skin, as well as, what you ingest.

The first product that I reviewed was the vanilla mint toothpaste.  I will premise this with a warning.  This is not the same toothpaste you've been using since you were a kid.  You will not get that stingy, minty, sensation after each brush.  It's not even in a tube- it's in a tub.    What you will get is cleaner, whiter, healthier teeth.  Now, it didn't occur to me until I started this review, that I should have done a before and after photo. Marisa warned me that the texture is something that would take getting used to, and she was right.  It reminded me of gritty crisco.  Not in a bad way!  It really doesn't foam up like regular toothpaste but you can truly feel it polishing and cleaning your teeth!  It's so different from what I've always known! However, change isn't always bad.  This toothpaste was definitely different, but it worked, and my teeth have maintained their shine longer, and I've felt that there has been a lower instance of staining from tea and coffee.  It's been about 2 weeks now and I haven't thought about the toothpaste weird consistency for a while now.  I feel like my teeth are becoming less sensitive.  I'm definitely getting used to it!  Overall, if you try this product you must be willing to stick with it for a while!  Don't give up after that first awkward encounter.  One thing I would change about the product would be the flavor.  I'm personally a big fan of minty mouth.  With peppermint being an essential oil, I wouldn't think it would hurt to add a little more zing to the batch :)

My second review is of the deodorant!  This is a lavender scented deodorant which is one of my favorite scents.   Lots of research has been trying to link the toxins in deodorant with lymphomas and even breast cancer.  This is scarey to think that something that you do every day without thinking could be leading you towards a very grim future.  Why not try something natural?

This deodorant smells lovely but not overwhelming.  And it truly works.  I mean, I didn't smell.....I don't think..... You could probably ask my husband, but I'm pretty sure I smelled good!  Also, it was still early September when I tested this, still hot enough to produce a sweaty person!  I'm giving this product my seal of approval as well.  Things I would improve? Perhaps a line of different deodorant natural scents with essential oils to combat common ailments! I loved the lavender!  Bring it on full force!

Another product that I tried was the Dead Sea mud face wash.  This stuff is brilliant!  Again, it comes in a tub, and the color of it is dreadful, but man oh man, this stuff is great!
At first site, it looks strange in a tub.  It feels a little 'greasy', but it foams and leaves your face feeling soft and squeeky clean!  I do not know how this stuff isn't flying off every shelf in every beauty store in America!  I've fought with acne and skin issues my whole life and this face wash is the only thing that has left my skin feeling healthier, cleaner, and softer than ever before. There is just a soft and squeaky clean feeling that you get after using this product, and it is no wonder it's their number one best seller!

I tried the lip balm to review, as well.  As I mentioned before, my lips have the tendency to swell when I've been glutened so avoiding lip glosses and balm with gluten is a top priority.  Not that Angelina Jolie-esq lips aren't the envy of most women, but mine look a bit more like Rocky Balboa when they are swollen.  They also don't swell evenly, leaving just a top or bottom swollen or a right or left side.  (Yep, I'm a freak).  Anywho, this lip balm is smooth, natural and has a great scent.  They leave your lips feeling soft without causing every fly away hair to stick to your mouth (you know that pain in the ***, right?).  I'd suggest to the company to come up with a set of tinted balms-  I'd love a nice peachy nude balm that's gluten free. Just sayin'.

The last product that I tried was the calendula booty balm.  Now, as you know we cloth diaper- and although our journey with boo boo is coming to an end, we still have a bit of diapering to go before going to the potty takes over full time. Booboo has had a tiny skin irritation on his behind for a bit now.  I won't be posting pictures of his little tushy on the www, so you'll have to take my word. Well, the booty balm is very nice to use on tender areas. Like the other products, it uses coconut oil and essential oils as main ingredients to sooth and protect.  Also, look on the label -- cloth diaper safe!   We all love a new cloth diaper safe product!
